Health Justice report launch: Gender-based violence and discrimination in involuntary treatment
Later this month, Health Justice will be releasing a report and a series of communication tools aimed at understanding the impacts of gender-based violence and discrimination in BC's involuntary mental health treatment system. The project is rooted in interviews with and analysis from lived experience experts as well as significant law and policy research to identify a number of human rights impacts related to gender, gender-affirming supports, sex, caregiving, and many other intersecting experiences and identities. We'll also explore a number of ways that BC's mental health law and policy can better prevent and respond to gender-based violence and discrimination.
We'd like to invite you to a community briefing about the project to learn more:
When: Wednesday, September 18th from 3:00-4:30pm
