A Message from Marie White, Chairperson
The Government of Canada must become a model employer both in its hiring practices and its accommodation of disability. Persons with disabilities should be represented at all levels within the public sector. People with disabilities have the requisite skills and abilities for a range of positions.
Will your party make the Federal Government a model employer of persons with disabilities?
Labour market issues:
- Participation goals for Canadians with disabilities must be set in labour market agreements with the provinces and territories. Federal funds should not be transferred unless these goals are established.
Current Federal labour market programs for persons with disabilities must be expanded to ensure better training and supports for people with disabilities.
